Capture as close to the action as possible

The closer the entry is to the action, the less it is forgotten. Weighing and entering immediately beats entering from memory at the end of the day.

The most reliable data is the one you capture without thinking, at the moment the action happens. Entering in the evening means relying on memory, and memory recomposes, rounds, forgets.

Why memory betrays

A figure entered late is an approximate figure. Immediate entry removes that filter. Data follows the action, not the other way around.

The agent captures at the moment the action happens, not at the moment the network or the end of the day allows it. That inversion is what makes collection reliable.

Keep forms short

A three-field form gets filled. A fifteen-field form gets skimmed. Reduce the entry to the essentials, and complete later if needed.

Completeness is born from simplicity, not exhaustiveness. A field that gets in the way, a gesture that slows down: the field knows what works. Listening to the agents is making the forms reliable.

Check battery and storage

A full battery in the morning and enough space for several days of capture: two reflexes that avoid losses mid-season.

The device must last the day, otherwise the data does not either. Tracking the state of the devices, remotely, detects a failure before it costs.

Choose a suitable device

Toughness, readability in full sun, battery life: the field dictates its requirements. A device that resists dust and drops beats a powerful but fragile one.

Reliability first. The field does not forgive: dust, moisture, heat. The tool bends to it, or it breaks.
